From the patty to the condiments to the bacon, this recipe recreates the popular Travis Scott burger to a tee. Let’s get started!

Travis Scott Burger

On September 8, 2020, McDonald’s and Travis Scott collaborated to launch the Travis Scott burger, or as I liked to call it, the burger of epic proportions.  As expected, it became a massive hit. An upgraded version of the classic Quarter Pounder, it’s no wonder it became viral both on TikTok and in the real world. But sadly, all great things must come to an end. The Travis Scott may no longer be sold today, but it lives on in our hearts forever… and in this copycat recipe! You don’t need to be a fan to fall in love with the Travis Scott burger. The combination of buns, beef patty, bacon, and cheese is a sure win. And while this copycat burger may not have Travis Scott’s branding, it’s just as amazing.

Ingredients

Sesame Seed Burger Bun – Any brand works, but I think the Pepperidge Farms buns look and taste the most like Mickey D’s. You won’t need to toast the buns beforehand, but I highly recommend that you go the extra mile. The buttery and slight crisp it adds to the buns is way too awesome to pass up! Butter and Garlic Salt – If you’re toasting the buns.Bacon – It’s what transforms the Quarter Pounder into the Travis Scott burger. Pick the thick-cut slice, applewood smoked bacon. It has a sweet and smoky flavor that complements the beef patty really well. Ground Beef – For moist and juicy burgers, always go for 80/20 ground chuck. Salt And Pepper – A little seasoning goes a long way. Keep the flavors simple because you won’t want to overpower the rest of the burger components.American Cheese – Two slices for extra melty goodness.Ketchup and Yellow Mustard – These classic condiments never disappoint.Diced White Onion, Dill Pickle, Shredded Lettuce – The quintessential burger toppings.

What’s Special About a Travis Scott Burger?

I mean, just look at it! This beautiful monstrosity is undeniably delicious. A Quarter Pounder alone is already awesome, but when given the Travis Scott treatment, it becomes epic. With the Travis Scott burger, not only will you get a quarter-pound worth of beef patty, but also two slices of American cheese, lettuce, and bacon as well. This burger proves that Travis Scott isn’t only a legendary rapper. He knows a thing or two about good food, as well.

What is a Travis Scott Meal?

You’ll have the full Travis Scott special if you add a large Sprite, fries, and barbeque dip to your Quarter Pounder bacon cheeseburger. It’s LIT!

Tips for the Best Burger

Use high-quality beef. The patty is the star of the burger, after all! I like using ground chuck that’s either 80 to 85 percent lean. It yields the perfect balance of richness and flavor. If you use even leaner beef, your burger will be dry.If chuck isn’t available, you can also use cross rib roast and sirloin roast. As long as you stick to the meat:fat ratio, you’re good.Grind your own beef. It takes more time and effort, but you’re guaranteed quality. Ground meats from supermarkets sure are cheap, but there’s no telling what other types or cuts of meat goes in there!Do not over-work the meat. There are tons of recipes out there that call for mixing the ground beef with salt, pepper, onions, and other ingredients, but I think it’s best to leave it alone. Over-mixing causes the juices in the meat to ooze out, resulting in a dry patty. Just gently form it into a patty and season the edges.Form the patty about an inch wider than the buns. It will shrink as it cooks, giving you a perfect bun to patty proportion.Make an indent at the center of the patty with your thumb to avoid bloating. You see, the heat sends the juices of the meat towards the center, which results in a swollen patty. Making a dent then solves the problem.Chill the patty for 10 minutes before you cook to seal in the juices.Once the patty is in, leave it alone. Don’t press it, don’t flip it again and again, just leave it. The more you press and flip, the tougher the patty gets.To make sure the patty is cooked, use a meat thermometer. It should be at least 160 degrees Fahrenheit to be safe for eating.Give the patty 5 minutes to rest to let the juices redistribute throughout the patty. Maximum burger juiciness guaranteed! To get that steamed, fast food effect, heat the whole burger in the microwave for 30 seconds. Your burger will come out nice and steamy. For extra moist burgers, spread mayo on the bottom bun. Speaking of buns, here are other ones you should definitely try besides the classic sesame. Potato buns are soft, sturdy, and tasty. English muffins will add a fancy flair to your burger! This one’s particularly perfect for breakfast.Brioche buns are my personal favorite. I love the contrasting sweetness it adds to the burger.Pretzel buns are nice and dense, which is great if you’re planning on overloading your burger with sauces.
